La Cancillería de Venezuela dijo en un comunicado que la incautación del segundo avión venezolano en República Dominicana “es un robo”. De acuerdo con el Departamento de Estado, la incautación de esta segunda aeronave ocurrió debido a “violaciones de las leyes de control de exportaciones y sanciones” de Venezuela. El canciller Yván Gil arremetió contra el secretario de Estado de EE.UU., Marco Rubio, a quien calificó de “mercenario del odio” y “un ladrón de aviones” a través de un comunicado. Gil también dijo que tomarán medidas para exigir la devolución inmediata de la aeronave, aunque no mencionó cuáles.
